Traumatic Brain Injury occurs frequently in the US with more than 25 million cases annually. Mild to moderate TBI accounts for about 3 of every 4 TBI cases. Mild to moderate TBIs are the most difficult brain injuries to diagnose and treat and are often confused with symptoms and side effects that may or may not be caused by the brain injury.
Healthcare providers may describe some TBIs as mild-to-moderate because they are usually not life-threatening. Even so, the effects of mild TBI or concussion can be serious and sometimes deadly, and often life altering. This symposium, presented by medical experts, will provide a forum for creating a plan and path for diagnosis and management of effect and innovative treatments in mTBI.
